Our Firm
Cameron Lane was founded on a simple premise: the best advisors are those who've done the work themselves.
We've raised capital and managed portfolios. We've run billion-dollar operations. We've built the technology and infrastructure that makes organizations scale. This isn't theoretical expertise—it's pattern recognition earned through execution.
We started in capital solutions, connecting talent with investors. We expanded into operations, technology, and strategy because we kept seeing the same patterns across industries: talented people and strong opportunities, obscured by accumulated friction. We bring the same perspective—and the same commitment to long-term partnership—wherever we work.
Leadership Team
Jason Mills
Partner
Jason spent over a decade in executive leadership at UniGroup, most recently as President and CEO of the $1.5 billion transportation and relocation enterprise. UniGroup, which encompasses United Van Lines, Mayflower Transit, UniGroup Worldwide and UniGroup Logistics, is the nation’s largest household goods moving and logistics company.
At UniGroup, Jason led multiple business units before assuming enterprise leadership, driving operational transformation across a distributed platform of agents, drivers, and service providers. He's navigated the realities of large-scale operations from the inside—technology integration, capacity management, network relationships, customer experience at scale.
Before UniGroup, Jason held leadership positions at The Coca-Cola Company, Bayer, and Spectrum Brands, building operations, marketing and corporate development expertise in the consumer packaged goods industry. At Cameron Lane, he leads the Strategy & Growth practice. Jason holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. He currently serves on the Boards of Trustees of St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation and City Academy and previously served on the Benefactor’s Society Board of the College and Arts and Sciences at University of Virginia.
Ned Parrish
Partner
Ned has spent over two decades connecting talent with capital. He's served as Managing Director at Pula Capital Management and PlusTick Management, and held similar senior business development roles at multi-billion dollar hedge fund firms Quantitative Investment Management and North Sound Capital, where he sat on each firm's management committee.
Before moving to the buy side, Ned was a Vice President in the equities divisions at Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette, and Lehman Brothers, and a member of the Lehman Equity Research Investment Policy Committee.
Ned has developed relationships across family offices, endowments, foundations, and financial institutions — and brings a deep understanding of what it takes to tell a compelling story and build lasting partnerships. At Cameron Lane, Ned leads the Capital Solutions group. He holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia, where he has served as the board chair at Madison House, the University’s volunteer engine, and as a member of the Jefferson Scholars National Committee and the College of Arts & Sciences Benefactors Society Board.
Sam Herder
Partner
Sam spent over a decade in alternative investments, starting at Jefferies in Prime Services before joining a quantitative global macro hedge fund as Vice President. Over seven years, he helped grow the fund to over $2 billion in assets—building the operational infrastructure, technology systems, and processes that made that growth possible.
His experience spans operations, technology, and execution: designing and coding trading infrastructure, automating workflows, managing counterparty relationships, leading due diligence efforts, and overseeing cybersecurity and technology planning. He's seen firsthand how the right systems enable scale—and how the wrong ones create drag.
At Cameron Lane, Sam focuses on operations, technology enablement, and helping clients build infrastructure that stays ahead of growth. He holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia, where he serves as a volunteer coach for the men's rowing team and is a member of the steering committee for the program's $5 million endowment campaign.
